If there was even just a hint of a doubt about the return of the ’90s, Opening Ceremony’s new project with DKNY will now proof the opposite. With the support and knowledge of two geniuses, who already demonstrated their ability to help almost forgotten labels to new success, DKNY might step into the footprint of Kenzo and celebrate it’s comeback very soon.
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, creative director’s at Kenzo and founder of Opening Ceremony decided to reissue 15 of DKNY’S signature pieces from the early 90’s to arrive at Opening Ceremony boutiques and on the OC website this Friday. The capsule collection will include tee’s with a huge screen print of the NY skyline and XXL DKNY logo, cropped puffer jacket’s and colorblocked jumpsuits.
Truth be told, I doubted about a successful comeback of the 90’s, but viewing Cara Delevingne wearing the pieces and looking more than dope, is a reason to at least give it a try.
